YOUR INFORMATION. HANDLED WITH CARE.
Privacy statement
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This statement explains how The Legal Costs Consultants Pty Ltd, operating Sixth Minute (we, us, our), handles personal information in connection with our website, enquiries and legal spend review services.
1. Information we collect
When you contact or engage us, we may collect your name, role, organisation, contact details, correspondence and information needed to understand your enquiry or provide our services. A legal spend review may involve invoices, engagement terms, billing guidelines and matter records, including information about other individuals.
Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry. Contact us before sending sensitive or confidential matter documents so we can agree an appropriate way to receive them. Where we need sensitive information, we will seek consent unless collection is otherwise permitted or required by law.
We usually collect information directly from you or your authorised representative. We may also receive relevant information from your organisation, its lawyers or other parties you authorise. You may make a general enquiry anonymously or using a pseudonym, but we may need to identify you to provide services or meet legal obligations. Without relevant information, we may be unable to assist.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess and carry out engagements, review legal costs, prepare reports, communicate with clients, administer our practice and meet legal and professional obligations. We may also use information to protect our systems and manage complaints or disputes.
We do not sell personal information. If we send promotional communications, you can ask us to stop by contacting us or using any unsubscribe option provided.
3. Sharing information
We may disclose relevant information to personnel and professional advisers who assist our practice, service providers supporting communications, document storage and IT, and people you authorise. This may include your organisation or its lawyers where relevant to the agreed scope of work. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, including to courts, regulators or insurers.
We limit disclosures to what is appropriate for the purpose and take reasonable steps to protect confidentiality.
4. Website, cookies and browser storage
This website does not currently include analytics trackers, advertising pixels or document uploads. Email and telephone links open your own email or calling application. The contact form sends your contact details, organisation details, selected service and message to our website’s server, which uses Resend to email the enquiry to our team at The Legal Costs Consultants Pty Ltd. Resend processes the email under its privacy policy. Please do not submit confidential or sensitive matter information through this form. Booking links direct you to the contact page.
Our hosting and access platform may process technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs, to deliver and secure the website. Where ChatGPT sign-in is required, authentication is handled by that platform under its own privacy arrangements. Our cookie controls do not manage cookies set by the hosting or sign-in platform, or by our email delivery service.
To limit spam, our server temporarily stores a keyed hash of the submitting IP address and submission counts for up to 48 hours. The rate-limit record does not contain the enquiry message or raw IP address. We serve our fonts and images from this site. We do not currently set optional analytics or advertising cookies in the site code. We use browser local storage, rather than a cookie, to remember your cookie preference for six months. The stored record contains your choice, the notice version and a timestamp; it is not sent to us.
You can choose “Essential only” or “Accept optional cookies” in the popup. Because no optional cookies are currently installed, both choices currently leave optional tracking off. We will update the notice and request fresh consent before introducing optional tracking. Use to change your choice, or clear this site's browser storage. If storage is unavailable, your choice applies only while this page remains open.
5. Storage, security and retention
Information may be held in electronic correspondence, documents and client records. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including applicable legal, professional and record-keeping requirements. When no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, where permitted.
6. Overseas service providers
Website hosting, Resend enquiry delivery, communications and other technology services can involve processing outside Australia. The countries involved depend on the provider and service used. Please contact us before providing information if you need details of the arrangements relevant to your engagement or have data-location requirements. We will discuss those requirements before agreeing how to receive your documents.
7. Access and correction
You can request access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, using the contact details below. We may need to verify your identity. Access may be limited where permitted by law, including where providing it would affect another person's privacy or legal privilege. If we cannot meet your request, we will explain our reasons and available complaint options.
8. Concerns, complaints and data breaches
If you have a privacy concern, contact us with the details and the outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate and aim to provide a response within 30 days. If more time is needed, we will explain why and keep you informed.
If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which can advise whether your complaint falls within its jurisdiction.
If a data breach occurs, we will assess it, take appropriate action and notify affected people and regulators where required by law.
